Curly Girl But You Always Wear Your Hair Straight
Advice from Clarissa Malek & Linda Ross
First make sure your hair is clarified of any silicone based ingredients such as what you would find in your smoothing products and over the counter conditioner. Our top choice for clarifying is Detox from Lavender & Oak. Use this shampoo for 2 -3 weeks and follow it up with L&O petrochemical free conditioner and a wide toothed comb to remove tangles & knots. After 3 weeks switch to L&O Shampoo. These products are cruelty free, scent free, petrochemical, and paraben free. You can choose to have them scented in checkout with a few essential oils options.
Do not towel dry your hair. Instead use your hands to squeegee out excessive water from your strands. Next apply L&O leave-in conditioner to add moisture into the curl by pressing it into the mid-shaft with your palms and distribute it through the ends.
Now its time to add a frizz and curl control product. You can choose between the following options:
Wavy Hair : L&O Balm (adds a light weight to the curl with a satin like shine and ultimate frizz control. Make sure to emulsify this product until it turns into a lotion like consistency into your hands before applying)
Type 2-3 Curls: L&O Curl Cream (weightless, Makes the curl spring up tighter, adds humidity resistance and controls top layer frizz)
Type 3-4 Curls: L&O Balm first then L&O Curl Cream
or Kevin Murphy Motion Lotion then L&O Curl Cream
Fine Curly Hair : Kevin Murphy Full Again then L&O Curl Cream
You can finish by using a microfiber towel to scrunch your curls up and remove excess water before air drying or diffusing.

Oily Hair & Dry Scalp?
Over the counter shampoo & conditioner is the most common culprit to oily hair & dry scalp. Its the combination of low quality cleansing ingredients and cheap silicones in the conditioner that cause most scalp issues.
Spend the next 3 weeks clarifying the hair a minimum of 2x a week and a max of 4x a week. For color treated hair use L&O Detox or R+Co Acid Wash to remove the silicone buildup. For virgin hair use Aestelance AS shampoo. Follow up with L&O Conditioner to ensure you remain free of silicone buildup.
Detox, cleanse and rebalance your scalp with R+Co Crown Scalp Scrub 1-2x a month. It’s super important to maintain the scalp so use Aestelance Balance lotion every time you come our of the shower and have cleansed your hair. This is especially important for anyone experiencing dandruff, Eczema, or Psoriasis. This liquid is applied either in or out of the shower directly to the scalp after you have conditioned your hair. You do not rinse it out. It will not leave a residue but it will give you the best scalp you’ve ever had in about 3 weeks.
For red or irritated scalp use Aestelance Calm before applying Balance. Calm is also a liquid to be applied either in or out of the shower directly to the scalp after you have conditioned your hair and do not rinse it out.
Apply Kevin Murphy Hydrate Me Mask 1x a week during your 3 week clarifying program and L&O Leave-in Conditioner after each time you have washed your hair.
