As lead stylist of her previous salon in Phoenix, AZ, Shayla did it all: All colors and cutting on all textures. With 24 years of experience in the industry, Shayla is still that passionate stylist that loves working with every color and hair texture. 

Like many stylists in this amazing community with curly hair, something shifted for Shayla and she began to love her natural hair texture more and more, and with that shift also came the desire for her clients to love and embrace their own curls and coils just as much.

The dream to move to the east coast and begin working in a salon that catered to curly clients became a reality when Shayla decided to leave her full clientele, family and friends, pack her apartment and travel across the country in May 2022. Now settled in Jersey City, Shay is here to stay. 

Shayla’s advanced education ranges from Bumble & Bumble network educator, DevaCurl training, Goldwell Academy, Bellami Extensions, behind the stage at fashion shows, on set for photo and video shoots, educating in Scottsdale at a private cosmetology academy, mentorship for new stylists beginning their career, multiple advance color and cutting courses, in depth consultation classes and so much more. 

With decades of knowledge and experience, Shayla will never stop learning and continuing to be the best stylist she can be for herself, as well as her clients. Your experience in her chair is just as important as you loving your hair. She believes whether it is color or curls, your hair is meant to be loved, acknowledged, praised and celebrated!

When Shayla is not creating magic behind the chair, she is a big fan of music, culture, sushi, true crime docs, festivals, exploring the city and meeting new friends. She wears her heart on her sleeve and believes in giving back to the community through volunteer and non-profit work.
