Preston comes to Bloom Beauty Lounge from one of Salt Lake City’s top salons. He is the Director of color education at bloom and constantly setting trends, inspiring and educating our staff .

His passion for hair was discovered at age 15 when he experimented with hair color on himself for the first time. After spending years at a friend’s salon observing and learning from the many talented stylists there, and experimenting on a few brave/foolish friends, Preston began pursuing a career in hairstyling - a career that has now spanned 15 years. Much of the past decade and ahalf has been spent working behind the chair building strong relationships with his clients.

Preston enjoys finding the right combination of color and cut to best complement each individual’s appearance, taste, and lifestyle. He loves to research anything hair: color, products, formulas, tips and techniques. Preston’s mother, who was an art teacher, helped cultivate in him a passion for education and the arts, which keeps Preston inspired in a highly creative atmosphere, and makes gaining inspiration from film, media, and especially the world around him come naturally.

Preston’s desire to learn has become a desire to teach, and for the past year, he has been working with Kevin.Murphy as a color educator, both teaching fellow stylists locally and traveling to hair shows to work alongside the team’s master stylists. At Bloom and NYC, Preston feels perfectly at home and inspired by the many talented hairdressers on staff, and by all the amazing food and music the City has to offer.
