Born and raised in California, Clarissa also spent part of her childhood in Kuwait, where she met her future business partner Claire in the sixth grade. Together, they run Bloom Beauty Lounge where she has created one mission, to help clients embrace and love their natural hair texture—whether curly, wavy, or straight.

Her approach to hairstyling is a fusion of classic Vidal Sassoon precision cutting techniques’s, focusing on structure and integrity, with a deep understanding of how texture influences each unique cut. With a goal to empower clients to style their hair naturally and confidently, Clarissa champions a personalized approach to beauty, debunking misconceptions spread by the internet and social media.

Living a bi-coastal lifestyle, she divides her time between New York City and Baja, where she lives in a van with her partner and two dogs, returning to New York every four weeks to tend to her clients. When she’s not behind the chair, you can find her surfing or building houses with her partner.

An educator at heart, Clarissa is committed to growing Bloom’s education program, ensuring future generations of hairstylists are equipped to cut and style curly hair with skill and confidence.
