Paula celebrates 28 years in the beauty industry and specializes in curly hair, precision haircutting,brides & formal hair styling.She has appeared in Wedding Dresses Magazine and has done a bridal showcase with The Knot. Both Citysearch and Time Out New York have voted Paula the top 4th stylist for curly hair in NYC. New York Magazine Families boasts that she is the best stylist for kids!
Paula has been written up in many magazines such as Seventeen, Marie Claire, Shape, Self, New York Magazine Families, Time Out NY, First, The New York Times, Weight Watchers & Vintage. She has appeared on NY1 for stylists providing continuing education & doing makeovers on Full Frontal Fashion. She was personally responsible for the Success Story makeovers for Weight Watchers Magazine & on their website. In addition she has she has styled for theatre off Broadway, photo shoots for celebrities/magazines & independent films.Her large client base extends from children, locals, businessmen, students, models, artists, set designers,theatre folk to celebrities!
She is an advocate of Locks of Love & Wigs for Kids. Paula is proficient in styling wigs for cancer patients & Reiki healing. Currently Paula is in the process of crating a program called “Beauty from The Inside Out”…. nutrition & aesthetic.Paula has been running salons/spas for over 2 decades. She was trained in the Sassoon philosophy of haircutting and served as an educator for Tony & Guy for seven years. Celebrating 10 years of free diving with wild doplhins keeps her connected to nature. This touchstone helps to create her creative spirit, bringing awareness back to Bloom. Q: What made you want to become a hairdresser?
A: I had an incredible foreign mentor at the age of 14 who was from Holland and identified my natural ability to create with hair. She inspired me and placed me in a great salon. I quickly changed my career direction from Fashion Illustration to Hairstylist!
Q: What’s the biggest beauty myth?
A: You have to suffer to be beautiful.
Q: What do you dislike most when getting ready in the morning?
A: Waking up.
Q: If someone made a movie about you, who would play you and what kind of movie would it be?
A: It would be a dramatic sci-fi dolphin movie about healing. I would be the person who could commune with the dolphins.
Q: What thought or message would you put in a Fortune Cookie?
A: Eat, Pray, Love!
Q: What is the one item you should throw away but probably never will?
A: A pair of shorts from 10th grade.
Q: What is your favorite weird food combo?
A: Salty potato chips dipped in dark chocolate.
Q: If you were trapped on a desert island, what three things and one person would you bring with you?
A: My boyfriend Jean-Luc, of course!
And otherwise… Cooking Tools, an endless supply of matches, and sunscreen with lip balm.
Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Bimini island, it is my touchstone in life.

A: Hanging with my family.
